DESCRIPTION:Bird lovers from across the country come to Lake Erie's souther
 n shore each May to witness the migration of songbirds and other species. L
 ocated at the intersection of two major migratory flyways\, the region prov
 ides an excellent stopover habitat for songbirds as they travel north from 
 Central America and the Caribbean. The birds congregate along the forested 
 lakeshore to build up energy to cross the expanse of the Great Lake to thei
 r North American breeding grounds. For the Birds is a free exhibition celeb
 rating the rich diversity of avian art in the Toledo Museum of Art collecti
 on. The show includes hand-colored etchings by John James Audubon\, hand-co
 lored lithographs by British naturalist John Gould\, etchings by the impres
 sionist painter and sporting artist Frank W. Benson\, Japanese wood block p
 rints by Ohara Koson\, and books by Raoul Dufy and Pablo Picasso.
